If you do not have a least a gig of memory Gargeband will suck.
I do not balme the OS I blame the operator…sound familiar?
I have had the same MP3 trouble with Audacity and just convert it to wav and then to mp3.
And you are a princess dear..dirty hotel room?… it was some trash the the underpaid housekeeper forgot and you freaked out…that was so a Paris Hilton moment!

JayT! I got my mac in September or so and I have to agree..I keep having problems too. Sometimes it will just sort of turn off and then turn on..like the screen turns off and then after a couple seconds just comes back on like nothing. Also, when I try to burn cds it gets CRAZY loud and won’t burn and then sometimes it does..and also I have things that just WILL not close no matter what. Even when I force quit it doesn’t work, like photobooth and soemtimes iPhoto. Do you have any of those problems? It’s annoying, especially since everyone is always saying don’t buy a PC when you can get this amazing mac that never gets viruses and works amazingly well..i don’t know, maybe it’s just the new iBooks but i paid a lot of money, i want quality!

Oh my, I have an Intel Imac and I’ve never had any trouble recording my podcasts with Garageband. I use Garageband to record all my podcasts, import the mixed down audio into iWeb and upload to my .mac account. My Imac has 2 gigs of RAM. I donno if that makes a difference. I’m about to buy a Macbook Pro with my income tax refund money. I would not go back to Windows. Sorry to hear you guys are having problems. If I were a geek, I’d offer some advice. Cheers
