All three billboards are clearly references to Cartoon Network shows “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” and “The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.” (Thanks, Bruce!)

It’s Time for : BIG BROTHER ALL-STARS!!!!

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

It’s summer, and Big Brother is back. But this time WE have power to pick who we want in the house.

So let’s get the gays back in the race!!!! - Here are my picks -

GO VOTE

Bunky  He’s gay, a little annoying, but hey - aren’t we all?

Marcellas Now come on, wouldn’t it be a hoot if there were (2) gay guys in the house? It’d be a Big Brother First!!!

Howie  Very cute - he also kissed (peck on the lips as a dare)Marcellas numerous times while he was in the house, and flirted a lot too - it was really hot, not to mention its very refreshing to have a non-homophobic “straight” guy in the house.

James Was Very dorky and dumb - but listening him talk about his girlfriend was so annoying that I want to hear it again!

Kaysar And lastly, Kaysar. He was such a good player it was SO entertaining to watch the show!!!

Those are my picks - GO VOTE _ please I beg of you - LOL (I am such a dork)

Canned Letter from my senator, in response to my email.

June 5, 2006

Dear Mr. JayT:

Thank you for your message about same sex marriage. I appreciate hearing from you.

I oppose discrimination based on a person’s sexual orientation, race, religion, age, gender, disability, color, or national origin. I am a cosponsor of the Employment Non Discrimination Act (ENDA), designed to prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation. In addition, I am a cosponsor of the hate crimes bill, which would amend the federal criminal code to establish or strengthen penalties for people who intentionally cause bodily injury to another person because of actual or perceived sexual orientation, disability, national origin, race, color, religion, or gender. I also have supported efforts to allow health, family leave, and bereavement benefits to domestic partners.

Decisions about the legal status of marriage historically rest with state and local authorities. I do not support a Constitutional amendment either recognizing or prohibiting same-sex marriages as a national standard. While I do not support same-sex marriage, the Constitution has been amended only 17 times since the adoption of the Bill of Rights, and this issue does not rise to the level of constitutional necessity.

I appreciate knowing your thoughts about this matter and will keep your concerns in mind as the issue is considered further. Thank you again for contacting me. Please feel free to keep in touch.

Sincerely,
Richard J. Durbin
United States Senator

So basically, among other things - he is saying #1 - I do not want you to get married, however don’t worry, you can keep your job and continue to pay taxes and #2 - don’t worry - Amendments rarely ever pass -

F YOU!

Letter from David, from Denver -

Dear JayT ~

Gosh, your voice and what you’ve put out there in the past few podcasts have really struck a chord; both to all of us out here in your audience, and more importantly within your own swirling mind and heart.

I was recently stunned by two things…

First, when you read that article pertaining to the Federal Marriage Amendment and clearly became so emotional, as if you were reading it for the first time and were completely taken to a different place within yourself.  Incredibly raw that was, as is true with most of your podcasts and is nearly the sole reason for me to keep listening and coming back for more.

Being partnered as you are, I completely empathize with your personal story and why this is so important of an issue for you.  As a gay man myself who may at some point be in a similar situation, I laud you for calling attention to the measure.  I had first heard of it on MikeyPod’s podcast a few weeks back and immediately went to the HRC website, filled out the information, and now have a postcard with my name on it for the HRC to deliver to the representatives just before the vote.  But now, having listened to your podcast and your emotional reaction, I have thought more deeply about it - and have made it a personal commemoration or dedication in my heart to you and Jon.  (John?)  My postcard from the HRC is in your honor, and to honor the relationship that you and your husband share.

Secondly, the dramatic swing from your usual focus on light and airy topics while zipping along the highway and onto the “heavier things” (although vague), i.e., “JayT’s having a bad week”, really personalized and infused a sense of emotion for me.  While I don’t know you personally, you speak to me.  And on some level, I relate to you.  And so - simply put - because you touch me in such a way, it pains me to know that you’re going through some sort of rough time and possibly hurting.

I only hope you know that your listeners, including myself, care about you - in very real ways.  So, please know that if there is anything I can do to be of any kind of support, the offer is there for the taking.

Keep up the great podcasting work - it’s now to the point where things are getting very interesting.  Peace to you, my friend - I’m listening.

Always~
